The All in Nature experience is a small group with inspiring leadership, engaged in a carefully crafted summer or after school program that captures a child's imagination, excites a passion for learning and exploration, and awakens hidden talents and skills. We value caring relationships which provide support and encouragement for all children. We promote kind interactions towards one's self, others, and the earth, while placing value on teamwork, communication, and personal responsibility. We believe that just like in nature, the strongest, most resilient and productive systems are those that are highly diverse and integrated-- with each member contributing to the greater good. All in Nature strives to create a community of explorers who inspire growth, encourage one another, understands their role in protecting the earth, and views the world and themselves with endless potential and beauty.
The All in Nature experience is simply not a summer camp or after-school program, it is a transformative experience which impacts a child for a lifetime.
WHY FAMILIES CHOSE All in Nature
American Camp Association Accreditation
All in Nature is currently working with the American Camp Association to become a fully accredited program that meets over 300 standards related to quality programming, safety and risk management. ACA will also be the facilitator for All in Nature to solicit donations in order to provide programming for low income families.
Small Groups
Each child is placed on a "team" of twelve members with two leaders. When building our teams, we take into consideration age, grade, gender ratio, and family dynamics. Group size is large enough for fun games and activities but small enough for caring support and direct supervision.
Exceptional Leadership
Our leaders are trained educators and facilitators with extensive experience working with youth. Youth leaders all have bachelors or advanced degrees in Education, Environmental Science, Special Education, Chemistry, Recreation, Ecology, Forestry, Psychology, Biology, or Outdoor Education. They are exceptional role models who facilitate organic teachable moments using the earth as a classroom. Our vision is that children will return to our program year after year and our leaders will become an integral part in a child's social, emotional and educational development.
Everyone Contributes Every team member is a valued contributor. With the leaders’ support, children are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities and challenges.
Appropriate Challenges
Our programs are carefully designed to provide learning opportunities for individual growth and self-discovery. Age, grade, interests and group dynamics are considered when determining specific activities for the day. Our main goal is to provide safe, fun programming which cultivates a love for one's self, others, and the earth.
High Expectations We expect a lot from our explorers—from playing by the rules to helping out to having a positive attitude. Our programs foster a "can do" attitude and the expectation is that every team member will stretch their abilities and try new things. The experiential process cultivates leadership, confidence, trust, listening and observation skills. Ultimately we strive to create wholesome and enthusiastic groups where children feel welcomed, valued and challenged.
Diversity of Learning Experiences
We provide a diversity of learning activities from earth education to personal self-discovery. Experiential education presents unequaled opportunities for teachable moments and the development of confidence, compassion, honesty and integrity. Children get to participate in a variety of activities at multiple locations, igniting a passion and excitement to experience new things.
Whole Family Experience All in Nature strives to create a vibrant community of explorers by offering a wide variety of earth educational and personal discovery experiences. We understand the importance of including all family members in the discovery process. Each day parents will have access to a private blog with photos, details of the activities and learning focus. We may include specific questions that can be asked to spark dialogue and reflection from all family members. Parents will feel connected to their child's experience, and it may even provide opportunities for children to teach their parents about ecology, biology and conservation.
